Before marrying Isham, Rachael had a son named Alfred Church, b. early 1829 in North Carolina. The father of Alfred Church was RICHARD WHEELER.
Isham and Rachael had the following children: Alexander B. Dancy (1832-1884), Mary Ann Dancy (Jennings) (1835-1852), David Dancy (c1840-1864), Martin Dancy (c1842-1862), Calvin Dancy (c1845-?), Amanda Caroline Dancy (Higgins) (1848-1939), Laura Jane Dancy (1853-1864).
I have a letter written on April 24, 1887, from Rachael Dancy in Wilkes County, North Carolina, to her granddaughters, Amanda Jane Stoner and Metilda C. Church. She mentions the death of her son Alexander three years earlier and of two of Alexander's daughters in February 1887.
