The small marker in the right foreground of the picture is for the grave of William D. Maynor, who died as a teenager in 1851 and was buried on the family land. The two taller tombstones farther back are for his parents, William H. and Elizabeth Cox Maynor. William H. died in early 1861 and was buried near his son. Later, some of the Maynor property was donated to establish Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, including the land where these family graves were. They are now part of the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, on Lee County Road 401. (At the time of the first burials, this land was still part of Russell County.)
